Preserving Workshop - Fall in Love with Preserving

Preserving Workshop - Fall in Love with Preserving

$165.00

This is a great way to get into preserving. If you’ve thought it was time consuming, too involved or had too many steps, Your’e going to love this class.

It all starts with the fact that you don’t have to sterilize your jars any more! Yes, you can just start preserving. That’s just the start of the life changing methods that we go through in this class.

The preserves I make at home usually find their way into most of the dishes I cook, and it’s going to be so much fun to share that with you. It’s the “not-so-secret” secret ingredient that makes the meals extra special and adds that unique flavour that make the tastebuds sing!

Saturday 13th July - 10am to 2pm (SA Time) - $165 per person.

We’re going to learn the 4 basic methods of preserving.

We’ll start by making Jam from scratch. Forget the pectin sachets, the sterilizing and all the fuss, I have a no-nonsense method that is so simple you’ll be whipping out jars in no time.

Next up is Fruit in a Jar. Truly an underused preserve but deserves its place in the modern kitchen. This preserve not only captures the flavour of the season, but then elevates it as it’s suspended in the most gorgeous syrup. You’ll be hard pressed to not to drink it straight from the jar!

Our last two preserves will be Bread and Butter Cucumber Pickles and an Indian Spiced Roasted Pumpkin Chutney. Both of these preserves are delicious in their own right and can also transform your dinner meals into something memorable.

This will be an informative, hands-on and delicious day out that you’re going to love. I can’t wait to not only show you how easy making preserves can be, but share with you all my tips for using those preserves in dishes you can cook at home.
